Dear Odyssey Families,

We have had a wonderful three weeks with your children! All classes are well into the project themes of Under the Sea, Stories of the Land, Living to 100, Government and Me, and The World as a Village. Our afternoon activities offer our students exercise, time to create, and quiet reflection with great literature.

We were able to explore these themes further with field trips to The Georgia Aquarium, The State Capitol, The Blue Heron Nature Center, and The Center for Civil and Human Rights. Our Rising Third Grade students enjoyed two workshops on Yoga and Mindfulness.

Please remind your children that phones are for contacting you regarding transportation issues only. We do not allow the use of electronic devices during the school day, and we cannot take responsibility for damaged or missing electronic devices if you choose to send these with your child. Thank you for your support in getting your students here each day and on time in accordance with our attendance policies.

For your planning purposes, we will have a closing celebration and tour of classrooms on the last day of Odyssey, July 13th.  Students will showcase their learning in homerooms from 8:15 – 9:15. We will have a whole school celebration in the Hamilton Room from 9:15 – 10:15 with dismissal following. If you are unable to attend, we will have buses leaving our campus at 11:30. We hope you will join us for this happy celebration and farewell!

Have a happy and safe weekend!

Ann Tedesco, Odyssey Elementary Director
