The University of Southern California is pleased to announce the student application is now open for USC Bovard Scholars, a program which aims to help high-achieving high school rising seniors with financial need gain admission to and succeed at the nation’s top universities.

Many outstanding students from educationally and economically under-resourced communities do not even apply to the nation’s best universities — despite the likelihood not only of being admitted but also of receiving generous financial aid that often makes it less expensive than attending less-selective colleges.  Those talented students that are correctly “matched” with selective institutions graduate at much higher rates (Hoxby & Avery, 2013).

To that end, our USC Bovard Scholars receive admission and financial aid guidance, comprehensive test preparation, personalized career exploration and leadership development opportunities.  The program includes an intensive, three-week residential experience during the summer on the USC campus and personal coaching throughout the college application and decision-making process, all at no cost to the student.  Our scholars engage with guest speakers, industry experts, career specialists and recent college graduates to define their personal pathway to college and beyond.

The summer program is set to run July 15 – August 4, 2018.  During their senior year, Scholars will work with their coaches to receive support and feedback as questions arise.  The program application is now open.  All interested and eligible high school juniors are encouraged to apply.  Space in the program is limited.  For more information, visit scholars.usc.edu

Do not hesitate to reach out to The University of Southern California with any questions or feedback.
